The phenomenally successful Blood, Sweat & Tears was a difficult act to follow for the pioneering jazz rock ensemble bearing the same name. Nevertheless, Blood, Sweat & Tears 3 featuring the soulful, powerful, and charismatic voice of David Clayton-Thomas and horn driven, animated and sophisticated arrangements for Top 40 hits such as Hi-De-Ho and Lucretia Mac Evil yielded a number one follow up album for this groundbreaking group! The album also features distinctive, utterly fascinating interpretations of other artists repertoire such as a jazzy version of Laura Nyro's He's a Runner, Traffic's 40,000 Headmen, a grandiose version of the Rolling Stone's Sympathy for the Devil, and a compelling take on James Taylor's Fire and Rain.
