The phenomenally successful Blood, Sweat & Tears was a difficult act to follow for the pioneering jazz rock ensemble bearing the same name.   Nevertheless, Blood, Sweat & Tears 3 featuring the soulful, powerful, and charismatic voice of David Clayton-Thomas and horn driven, animated and sophisticated arrangements for Top 40 hits such as “Hi-De-Ho” and “Lucretia Mac Evil” yielded a number one follow up album for this groundbreaking group!   The album also features distinctive, utterly fascinating interpretations of other artists repertoire such as a jazzy version of Laura Nyro's “He's a Runner,” Traffic's “40,000 Headmen,” a grandiose version of the Rolling Stone's “Sympathy for the Devil,” and a compelling take on James Taylor's “Fire and Rain.”
