JIM HALL
CONCIERTO
UDSACD 2012
JIM HALL, Guitar CHET BAKER, Trumpet
PAUL DESMOND, Alto sax
ROLAND HANNA, Piano
RON CARTER, Bass
STEVE GADD, Drums
Hauntingly beautiful, Concierto features the ultra smooth jazz guitar great - Jim Hall amidst a stellar line up inclusive of the legendary Chet Baker on trumpet, Ron Carter on bass, Paul Desmond on alto sax, Sir Roland Hanna on piano and a young Steve Gadd on drums. Long considered perhaps the best record ever released on the CTI label, Concierto features an inspired version of the fusion staple entitled Concierto de Aranjuez. Simply put, a mainstream jazz must have fully realized sonically on hybrid SACD by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab.
