The premiere recording of a major work for chorus and orchestra by Richard Strauss: Die Tageszeiten (dee TAHG-est-zye-ten) is a large four-movement work composed by Strauss shortly after his most popular opera, Der Rosenkavalier. Perviosly known only to male choruses, Die Tageszeiten is now poised to become a favorite to all who love the music of this great composer.

Also included: the Alto Rhapsody by Brahms and a Schubert Serenade, featuring mezzo-soprano Melanie Sonnenberg; Bruckner's Abendzauber with Metropolitan Opera tenor Timothy Jenkins; and a potential radio "hit" in the Ave Maria by the little-known composer Franz Biebl. The 200-voice Turtle Creek Chorale and the Fort Worth Chamber Orchestra are conducted by Timothy Seelig.

Recorded by "Prof." Keith Johnson in the Meyerson Symphony Center, Dallas, using the astounding new HDCD
® process, The Times of Day is an essential choral release
