Dreamsville
Maria Winther
For over 15 years I have been looking for a female jazz singer and this spring, one of my close [friends], piano player and composer Gösta Rundquist ("Treecircle", Opus 3 CD 19801) found her: Maria Winther.
Almost immediately there was no doubt that Gösta wanted to be the producer of her debut album and also chose the musicians in the band: Joakim Milder on Tenor sax, Christian Spering on Double bass (Christian is on Joakim Milder's Opus 3 album from 1992, "Consensus") and Ola Hultgren on Drums.
Needless to say, all the band members are among the Swedish jazz elite!
The music on this album is mostly from The American Songbook - songs that have been part of Maria for a very long time.
Jan-Eric Persson - Opus 3 Records
Maria Winther - vocals
Gösta Rundqvist - piano
Joakim Milder - tenor saxaphone
Christian Spering - double bass
Ola Hultgren - drums
