On this CD the three Swedish string quartets is presented which have meant the most to the Zetterqvist String Quartet over the years.They are individually very different in musical genre, but nevertheless they contain a strong common element: the intensity of the need for expression to a degree which explores the outermost limits of the string quartet - the most intimate of musical forms. In all three we are made strongly aware of the deeply existential, humanistic expressive elements. Perhaps not music for “light listening”, but a rich source of constantly new discoveries - who said that life is different?
