The Classic Ocarina

The Chuckerbutty Ocarina Quartet - Michael Copley, Director

DOR-93260 Cover

"The ocarina, a wind instrument made in many shapes and sizes, has been around for a long time. Unfortunately, it has been ignored by composers both great and otherwise for almost as long."

From this premise, Michael Copley, Director and founder of The Chuckerbutty Ocarina Quartet, sets out to correct the injustices of the past with a brilliant, charming, virtuosic, and often sidesplittingly funny traversal of classical, traditional, and popular music from around the world. In so doing, he has crafted a unique recording that effectively re-invents the possibilities of the little 10,000 year-old clay instrument built on the principle of the Helmholtz resonator.
