Kenneth Dake
Organ of Marble Collegiate Church, New York City
Kenneth Dake is Director of Music at Marble Church where he conducts the 20-voice professional Sanctuary Choir and has initiated the Festival of Voices volunteer choir. He is a prolific choral arranger with particular interest in American folk hymnody. He holds Master's and Bachelor's degrees in piano performance from The Juilliard School, where he was a student of Sascha Gorodnitzki and took top honors in competitions such as the Young Keyboard Artists International, Chicago Civic Orchestra, and Musicians Club of New York. An interest in church music led Kenneth to take up the organ, studying with John Weaver and serving as Organist/Choirmaster of St.George's Episcopal Church and director of the 100-voice St. George's Choral Society. A native of Barrington, Illinois, Kenneth made his piano debut at age thirteen with the Elgin Symphony.
