In 1962, John Hammond of Columbia records brought Warren back to New York to record, and he remained there ever since, recording and touring extensively as a jazz pianist and an accompanist, additionally maintaining a busy schedule as a sideman and an arranger in New York's busy studio world. Since 1970 he has appeared a great deal with Mike Mainieri, and has also toured and recorded with Jack DeJohnette, Clark Terry, Gerry Mulligan, Gary McFarland, Jeremy Steig, Michael and Randy Brecker, David Spinozza and Japanese guitarist Kazumi Watanabe. In the late seventies, Warren recorded several of his own albums for Arista Records.
