- Following his acclaimed 2005 Chesky effort, Jazz Kamerata, Franzetti revisits his enduring love of crooning on Songs for Lovers. This release pairs the versatile musician’s smooth voice with the lush orchestral sounds of the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. With Franzetti also handling all the orchestral arrangements, it’s easy to draw comparisons to the work of late geniuses like Frank Sinatra and arranger Nelson Riddle.
Songs for Lovers is perfect listening for those late night romantic moments. Among the songs featured are classic standards such as “Skylark” and “It Might As Well Be Spring,” plus more contemporary fare like Paul Simon's “I Do It for Your Love” and one original composition that Franzetti co-wrote with his wife, the celebrated pianist Allison Brewster Franzetti.
