4 GENERATIONS OF MILES
| ||
Featuring Ron Carter, Jimmy Cobb, George Coleman, & Mike Stern Until the night of May 12, 2002 that is.
Enter a concept that effectively brings together all the styles of Miles into one live set. Inside the club Makor in New York City, 4 individuals who played with Miles over the distinct phases of his career filled the room with spirit and evocation. Jimmy Cobb first took the stage and settled into his kit. Next it was George Coleman holding his tenor followed by Ron Carter escorted by his standup. Miles' later years were heard through the guitar of Mike Stern. From Be-Bop to Hard-Bop, from Cool to Fusion, the live chemistry that night was incredible. Somehow these 4 musicians effectively meshed their respective styles, creating a cohesive sound that truly is a tribute; now for all to hear on this live album - |
