Opera giants Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi need no introduction - for they are responsible for some of the greatest and most beloved operatic music ever written. Besides their inherent beauty and excitement, the works/excerpts presented here are massively orchestrated, calling for many additional musicians and special instruments to supplement the large symphony orchestra and choir(s), all of which add an extra element to the surround listening experience. Since the music was conceived for the opera house, we have endeavored to bring that same theatrical effect to the concert hall - thus this "Concertante" recording of great choruses and opera scenes composed by Wagner and Verdi.
