Performing traditional blues tunes by the likes of Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins and Mississippi John Hurt, David Johansen and the Harry Smiths showcase their unmatched level of musical craftsmanship
This gritty collection of earthy, down-and-dirty blues gems includes new renditions of "Don't Start Me Talking", "Katie Mae", "Richland Woman" and "Delia". Johansen and band invoke the spirit of the Anthology of American Folk Music by groundbreaking musicologist Harry Smith.

David Johansen first hit the scene with his seminal 1970's punk rock band The New York Dolls. In the mid-80's, he re-invented himself as lounge singer Buster Poindexter, whose single "Hot Hot Hot" became an MTV hit and a party classic.

David's famous voice lends itself perfectly to these emotionally raw songs.

This record is sure to delight his fans, who appreciate his icon-oclastic approach.
