With this beautifully recorded LIVE CD, Swing Live, the listener is transported into the intimate atmosphere of a Manhattan Jazz Club. With all the accompanying crowd interaction, come join us for an exciting re-creation of this epic, live Jazz performance!
The set features an ensemble of accomplished jazz veterans, including Bernard Purdie on drums, Peter Appleyard on vibes, Allen Vache on clarinet, Michael Moore on bass and Bucky Pizzarelli on guitar. Together, they pay homage to the swingin' sounds of the 1940's by performing standards from the likes of Lester Young, Johnny Mercer and Juan Tizol.
• Bucky's masterful rhythm playing on "Lester Leaps In" and "Dinah" is stunningly complimented by colorful, melodic solos on clarinet and vibes creating a sound much like the swingin' tunes of the Benny Gooman days.
