• This special compilation, Jazz Latino: A Collection of Latin Inspirations, features a stellar lineup of Chesky Records artists celebrating the wondrous impact the Latin sound has had on their music.   Featuring thirteen hot and sizzling Latin-flavored tracks, it is guaranteed to make you move and groove to this infectious blend of rhythms.   The disc offers an eclectic tour through the world of Latin influences from salsa/mambo inspired Jazz to Tango.

• From his Grammy Award winning album Portraits of Cuba (JD145), Paquito D'Rivera and his big band beautifully interpret "The Peanut Vendor," a popular Cuban song that has become a Latin Jazz standard.

• Featuring an explosive rendition of Bud Powell's "Un Poco Loco," performed by The Conga Kings with Phil Woods, Jimmy Bosch and Mario Rivera, from the upcoming Chesky Records release Jazz Descargas (JD217)

• Jazz greats Larry Coryell, Chuck Mangione and Monty Alexander infuse a distinct Latin sensibility into their compositions "Allegro," "I Do Everything For Love" and "Consider" while staying true to the Jazz idiom.

• Acclaimed Jazz trumpeter Tom Harrell offers his Latin Jazz contribution with "Expresso Bongo" from the album Passages (JD64) featuring Joe Lovano on tenor/soprano/alto saxophone and Danilo Perez on piano.

• Phil Woods makes his donation to this collection from his album Astor and Ellis (JD146) with a track entitled "Nada Sera Como Antes," a tribute to the legendary Astor Piazzolla.
