Cala Records continue their Stokowski Series of 'first CD releases' with more of the spectacular recordings which Stokowski made with his own hand-picked ensemble of brilliant New York virtuosi during the 1950s.   This collection has as its center-point a best-selling LP entitled The Heart of the Ballet in which Stokowski conducted excerpts from some of the great Classical and Romantic Ballets.

A contemporary review of the time wrote:
“Stokowski has selected the most tuneful and pleasing numbers from the most popular ballets and presents them in his most ingratiating manner.   Hosts of persons who have never seen a ballet are going to enjoy this record just for the pleasing music it contains.”
