Stokowski conducts The Planets

The 1943 NBC broadcast heard here was Stokowski's second performance of The Planets.   At that time the only complete commercial recording of the The Planets had been conducted by the composer himself.   Holst recorded it twice, in fact: acoustically in 1923 and again electrically three years later.
