Stokowski conducts Tchaikovsky, Richard Strauss TCAHIKOVSKY; STRAUSS In 1944 Stokowski founded the New York City Symphony Orchestra, and the following year he created the Hollywood Bowl Symphony in California. His Hollywood Bowl 78s of the Pathetique Symphony are full of colour and passion, excellently recorded and transferred from vinyl originals. No less effective is Death and Transfiguration with the New York City Symphony. |
