Studies have shown that classical music, played during pregnancy and to young children, has a beneficial effect on creative and intellectual development. Going further, Baby Symphony contains music by many of the most renowned classical composers of the past 300 years, and repeated hearings will not only familiarise young people with beloved melodies and phrases but will help them begin to appreciate the sweeping evolution of great music, which has had such a profound and positive effect on our lives. Welcome then, to the start of Baby's Musical Journey. Listening to Baby Symphony. The music has been chosen to engage baby by encouraging play and prompting a sense of wonder. It is flowing, graceful and uplifting. Only the final track, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Holst's The Planets, is more overtly energetic. Some parents may therefore choose to conclude their child's listening experience with the next-to-last track, the more restful Clair de lune. Geoffrey Simon, Artistic Director Cala Records |
