• On this new ATMA Classique CD, Meine Seele (My soul), Canadian countertenor Matthew White breathes new life into sacred cantatas by German composers who preceded Bach. Listeners are invited to rediscover forgotten works by such 17th-century German masters as Franz Tunder, Christoph Bernhard, and Philipp Heinrich Erlebach.
• Matthew White is currently the Artistic Director of Early Music Vancouver and programming director of Montreal's Les Voix Baroques. Operatic engagements have included work with the New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Cleveland Opera, Opera Atelier, Modern Baroque Opera, the Boston Early Music Festival and the Pacific Opera Victoria.
• Alexander Weimann has traveled the world as a member of the ensemble Tragicomedia; as a frequent guest of ensembles such as Les Boréades, Cantus Cölln, Freib, Tafelmusik, and the Gesualdo Consort Amsterdam. He led the Portland Baroque Orchestra in Handel's Messiah, conducted the Pacific Baroque Orchestra – of which he is Artistic Director since 2009 – and performed Bach's Harpsichord Concertos as soloist with Les Violons du Roy.
