“All signs point to Nézet-Séguin's being a major Bruckner conductor.” — The Philadelphia Enquirer

• Following the critically acclaimed recordings of Bruckner's last three symphonies on the ATMA label, Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin and l'Orchestre Métropolitain continue the series with Bruckner's Symphony No. 4.

• Symphony No. 4 is one of Bruckner's most popular works.   It was written in 1874 revised several times throughout 1888 and was premiered in 1881 by Hans Richter in Vienna with great success.   On this recording, Nézet-Séguin and Orchestre Métropolitain use the 1936 Haas Edition.

• Yannick Nézet-Séguin is one of the most sought after young conductors in the world.   In June 2010, he became Music Director Designate of the Philadelphia Orchestra, one of the United States' “big five.”   Prior to assuming his PO duties in September 2012, he continues as Music Director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra; and as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orchestre Métropolitain of Montreal, a position he has held since March 2000.   He has also held the post of Principal Guest Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra since 2008.
