Following his CD of harpsichord works by Alessandro Scarlatti - rated 10/10 on the ClassicsTodayFrance website, and the first of ATMA Classique's projected recordings of the complete harpsichord works by Scarlatti - Alexander Weimann now takes on Johann Sebastian Bach's Clavierübung II.
This new CD contains the French Overture, BWV 831, and famous Italian Concerto for solo harpsichord, BWV 971. Alexander Weimann has also recorded Yoav Talmi's transcription of this work for harpsichord and orchestra, with the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec (ACD2 2570).
Alexander Weimann is one of the most sought-after and respected ensemble directors, soloists, and chamber music partners of his generation. Weimann has traveled the world as a member of the ensemble Tragicomedia, and as a guest of the Freiburger Barockorchester, the Gesualdo Consort, and Tafelmusik. He has performed as a guest soloist with the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and Les Violons du Roy.
