Lieder Recital Debut Solo Recording SCHUBERT | SCHUMANN | BRAHMS | STRAUSS Nathan Berg, bass-baritone with Julius Drake, piano ACD2 2571 • We are proud to announce the debut solo recording of Canadian bass-baritone, Nathan Berg.   Berg is already well-known to classical CD buyers, however, from his many recordings as soloist in operas, cantatas, masses and symphonies.   With conductors Rene Jacob, William Christie, Robert Shaw, Martin Pearlman, Jaap van Zweden, and Bernard Labadie, he has appeared on Harmonia Mundi, Telarc, Philips, Erato, and Dorian.   On Hyperion he has had numerous solo tracks, appearing with Marjana Lipovsek in Graham Johnson’s complete Schubert series, and with Sophie Daneman in Mendelssohn.   So, not his first appearance as a soloist on disc! but a very welcome first solo disc. • This recital also marks the ATMA debut of pianist Julius Drake, one of the most respected and sought-after vocal accompanists in the world today. Drake lives in London, and specialises in chamber music.
