Yannick Nézet-Séguin
Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal

SACD2 2549

Recently appointed to replace Valery Gergiev as Music Director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic, conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin has won rave reviews for his masterful interpretations both at home and abroad.   He recently made successful debuts with SWR Radio Symphony, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Staatskapelle Dresden and the Swedish Radio Symphony.   Also the Artistic Director of the Orchestre Métropolitain (OM) in Montréal, he has garnered three coveted Prix Opus prizes.

This highly-anticipated recording of orchestral music inspired by the sea was made following a series of live performances of the work with the OM last year, which were well-received by audiences and critics alike: “ … a fantastically vivid soundscape that the OM captured tenderly … Nézet-Séguin proved himself a capable purveyor of the French tradition.   Pierre Mercure's Kaléidoscope linked the program together … it was a treat to hear playing of such affectionate vibrancy as the OM devoted to Mercure's [work].” - Montreal Gazette.
