BRUCKNER
SYMPHONY N° 7
Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal
Yannick Nézet-Séguin
SACD2 2512
Canadian conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin has won rave reviews for his masterful interpretations of Bruckner's symphonies both at home and as far afield as Australia. Recently appointed music director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Nézet-Séguin's performances of Bruckner have been praised for the vividness and ardour of his reading. (Sydney Morning Herald). This highly anticipated recording of Bruckner's monumental 7th symphony was made following a series of live performances of the work with the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal in September 2006.
Like all good Bruckner interpreters [Nézet-Séguin] made the abrupt
changes of gear sound natural and unforced, giving the impression of a mighty planet gradually orbiting around its axis.
- Peter McCallum, Sydney Morning Herald
