“Muse” is a double-CD set (2CDs for the price of 1) comprising of ‘Tears of the Muse’ and ‘On the Muse's Isle’, by the countertenor Daniel Taylor with music mostly by Dowland and Purcell.   This anthology is an overview of Elizabethan music, which was so good at describing human feelings, from pain to hope, and with which the Elizabethans tried to fend off solitude and melancholy.   With the help of the ensemble Da Sonar, the viola da gamba duo Les Voix Humaines, and lutenist Andreas Martin, Daniel Taylor presents here some of the most celebrated solos for countertenor.

Daniel Taylor has recorded some 15 CDs on ATMA Classique.   Several of these recordings have won prizes, including the Opus, Félix, Choc du Monde de la Musique, and Goldberg.
