CONCOURS MOLINARI 2005 | 2006 CONCERT DES LAURÉATS DU TROISIÈNE CONCOURS INTERNATIONAL | CONCERT OF THE WINNERS OF THE MOLINARI QUARTET‘S THIRD INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR COMPOSITION  Quator Molinari ACD2 2368 • This CD is a live recording of a special concert in which the Molinari Quartet performed the winning compositions in its Third International Competition for Composition (2005-2006). The Molinari organizes this competition to carry through its commitment to promote and support young composers everywhere and the creation of original works for string quartet. The main conditions for eligibility were that the composer be under 40 years of age on April 1, 2006, and that the submitted work be unpublished as of that date, and no more than 20 minutes long.  • The jury consisted of the members of the Molinari Quartet - Olga Ranzenhofer, Johannes Jansonius, Jasmine Schnarr, and Julie Trudeau - and of the Canadian composers Isabelle Panneton and Serge Provost. They selected the four winning works from a total of 92 eligible scores received from 32 countries • The diversity, quality, and originality of these scores delighted the jury members. On listening to the prize-winning works presented here you, too, will be impressed by the creativity and great talent of young contemporary composers. The string quartet is still a fertile form for musical innovation.
