J.S. Bach six partitas Mireille Lagacé, clavecin / harpsichord ACD2 2231/32 Mireille Lagacé is one of the rare performers to be equally at ease on the organ and the harpsichord. She has always distinguished herself by her brilliant technique, as well as for the perfection, sensibility and vitality other performances. Born near Montreal in 1935, she studied organ in Vienna with Anton Heiller and in Montreal with her husband, Bernard Lagacé. In 1962, she was a prize winner at the Munich and Geneva International Organ Competitions, and in 1965, she was a harpsichord finalist at the Geneva International Competition. To complement her activities as soloist and chamber musician, Mrs. Lagacé enjoys a very active pedagogical career. She taught organ for 10 years at the New England Conservatory in Boston and since 1973 has been teaching harpsichord and Baroque chamber music at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal. She has been invited to give numerous master classes in the United States, Canada and Europe. In addition, she now has some twenty recordings to her credit on Calliope, Titanic and Radio-Canada SM labels.
