Featured here together are two of the most briliant musical stars to have illuminated the English skies during the Elizabethan and Jacobean eras, whose sweet light neither time nor fashion has dulled. William Byrd and John Dowland - two Catholics in a sometimes fiercely Protestant world and each in genres brought to their epitome - succeeded a generation apart in leaving a mark on their times and enchanting the world.
