Yannick Nézet-Séguin's 2006-07 schedule includes appearances with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Dresden Staatskapelle, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre National de France, Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and the London and Rotterdam Philharmonics.   In Canada he will conduct Faust for the Canadian Opera Company, and appear with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Calgary Philharmonic, as well as with the Victoria Symphony - where he holds the post of Principal Guest Conductor - and of course with his own Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal.

Nino Rota was renowned as a prolific composer of soundtracks, especially for films by Zeffirelli, Coppola, and above all, Fellini, for whom he was the regular composer.   Rota turned the themes from Fellini's 1954 film La Strada into a 1966 ballet, composed on a commission from La Scala, Milan. Rota created a symphonic suite in which he regrouped the highlights into concert form.
